Greetings to all...it's been a while. The newsfront is quiet. There are a couple of news items. The first is a huge shout out to our President, Betty Gadson!!!! On May 16,at the AFT CT Annual Convection,Betty was honored with the"Unionist of the Year Award." She has spread herself all over through the years to support our members,many years at Weaver High and countless hours as President HFP #2221 .She has held many positions on the State AFT and the National Aft level. Her husband and family also deserve a big thank-you for enduring the fact that Betty has been very busy on our behalf. Betty, CONGRATULATIONS ...on your well deserved award. Betty was nominated by our treasurer,Marcia Cattenach. The summer school posting came out-there is one...A general app.for special ed paras. apply on line...deadline is June 4th,2009. Betty did ask that I write about all of us being tolerant and respectful of each other. When things are looking bleak and so unsure of the road ahead, we need to STAND TOGETHER...Unity will get us further...standing in numbers, for what is right-right for all of us.
